- DTE Energy and sonnen launched Michigan's first residential battery VPP pilot.
The two-year pilot connects nearly 100 homes at the Veridian at County Farm community in Ann Arbor. Each home uses sonnen battery systems. The Michigan Public Service Commission approved the project. DTE and sonnen aim to show how pooled home batteries can lower grid costs and improve reliability. The community is carbon-neutral, using geothermal, solar, and heat pumps.
