Fed to Cut Rate-Setting Meetings, Raising Market Whiplash Risk

Chairman Warsh plans to reduce FOMC meetings with policy decisions from eight to seven next year and to six in 2028. Some meetings will be reserved for strategy. The shift could increase the chance of unscheduled emergency meetings, which have historically unsettled markets.
