TSMC chip-tool needs nearly double as AI demand surges

TSMC says its need for chipmaking tools has nearly doubled since the end of last year, according to a Bloomberg report. The company is building about 20 factories globally but faces a shortage of experienced construction workers in Taiwan. Customers Nvidia and AMD continue raising orders, and TSMC cannot fully meet demand despite expanding at 4-5x its normal pace.
