American Express reaches 190 million merchant locations globally, international acceptance doubles in four years

American Express said its cards are now accepted at more than 190 million merchant locations worldwide, up 20 million this year. International acceptance has more than doubled in four years, driven by partnerships with Adyen, Mercado Pago, Dojo, and Alipay, and expansion in priority cities and categories like restaurants and transit.
