Uber Agrees to Buy Workplace Catering Platform ezCater for $2.3 Billion

Uber Technologies will acquire ezCater, a business catering and workplace meals platform, for $2.3 billion in cash. The deal gives Uber Eats access to ezCater's network of more than 140,000 restaurants and over $2.5 billion in annual gross bookings. Uber says the business is profitable on an adjusted operating income basis and margin accretive. Integration into Uber Eats and Uber for Business is planned. The transaction is expected to close in the coming months.
