Vistra jumps 11% on $4.2 billion Energy Department loan commitment

Vistra shares rose 11% after the Energy Department confirmed a conditional loan commitment of up to $4.2 billion for nuclear plant modernization. The funds target life extension and uprate investments at plants in Pennsylvania and Ohio, with an option for future uprates at Comanche Peak in Texas. Vistra must meet conditions before final financing. Siebert Williams Shank analysts said the commitment provides lower-cost funding. Nuclear stocks gained on AI-driven power demand, lifting Oklo and GE Vernova as well.
