First Solar Inaugurates First Phase of South Carolina Production Facility

First Solar opened the first phase of its Gaffney, SC facility, onshoring final production for Series 6 Plus modules. Phase two by mid-2027 will double capacity to 3.4 GW and add CuRe technology, supporting nearly 700 jobs. The facility is part of over $5 billion in US investment since 2019, with no Chinese crystalline silicon supply chain dependence.
