US equity futures slide further; Nasdaq 100 down 2%, S&P 500 off almost 1%

Nasdaq 100 futures fell 2% and S&P 500 futures dropped nearly 1% in early Friday trade, extending the prior session's tech-led losses. The decline follows a brutal after-hours earnings round that saw Amazon miss estimates, Intel plunge more than 20%, and Twilio and Illumina fall sharply. Thursday's regular session had already seen Alphabet, ServiceNow, and Fortinet drop double digits.
