Fresenius and WuXi Biologics enter exclusive biosimilars development agreement

Fresenius (FRE, FSNUY) and WuXi Biologics (2269.HK) announced an exclusive development agreement giving Fresenius option rights to up to 37 biosimilar candidates, potentially expanding its portfolio from 29 to 66 molecules. The deal, described as the largest in the biosimilars industry, targets more than EUR370 billion in originator sales. Fresenius retains full commercialization economics and manufacturing flexibility, including use of its mAbxience network. Initial candidates include polatuzumab vedotin and teprotumumab. Full-year 2026 guidance is unchanged; the 2030 Biopharma ambition is confirmed. Funding comes from operating cash flow with no new financing.
