3M reaches broad resolution of AFFF personal injury litigation for $7.35B

3M agreed to a $7.35 billion nominal settlement over nine years to resolve approximately 99% of PFAS personal injury claims in the AFFF MDL. The company will take a $5.8 billion pre-tax charge in Q4 2026 but said the payment structure provides predictable cash flow and does not change its 2026 guidance.
