Alcon acquires Neurotech, gains only FDA-approved MacTel treatment ENCELTO

Alcon paid $550 million for Neurotech Pharmaceuticals and its FDA-approved MacTel Type 2 therapy ENCELTO. The encapsulated cell therapy was approved in March 2025 under a BLA with priority review and orphan drug status. Alcon expects the deal to be modestly accretive to net sales growth in 2027 and accretive thereafter.
