Berkshire Hathaway stock nears record as rotation out of AI lifts defensive names

Class A shares rose 0.9% to $805,757, hitting a 52-week high of $808,000. The record close is $809,350 from May 2, 2025. Berkshire has over $350 billion in cash and $50 billion in annual after-tax earnings. Barron's estimates book value rose 3% to $540,000 as of Sept. 30. The stock is up 5% over the past month and 7% year-to-date.
