CME delayed the initial October 5 launch after the CFTC extended its review by 45 days, flagging concerns over market manipulation, pricing variance, and whether compute has the fungibility and liquidity needed for a commodity derivatives market. A competing product from startup Ornn and Intercontinental Exchange is also in development.
