Northern Trust Q3 net income $642.9 million, EPS $3.40

Northern Trust reported Q3 net income of $642.9 million, or $3.40 per diluted share, down from $792.2 million in Q2 but up from $457.6 million a year ago. Trust fees rose 8% year-over-year to $1.37 billion. The quarter included $48.7 million in pre-tax notable items, primarily a gain on the sale of the guardianship business and a Visa Exchange Offer gain.
