Everest Group faces securities class action over casualty reserves

A securities class action has been filed against Everest Group on behalf of shareholders who bought common stock between Feb. 8, 2024 and Oct. 27, 2025. The complaint alleges the insurer stayed concentrated in casualty risks with escalating claim costs, including business it said it had reduced or exited, that parts of that book were underpriced, and that reserves were too thin, understating liabilities and expenses and overstating earnings. It also claims fixing those problems would require substantial reserve charges and cuts to casualty writings, sacrificing recurring premium revenue. Investors seeking lead-plaintiff status must file by Dec. 28, 2026. No class has been certified.
