American Electric Power, Amazon, and X-energy announced a joint development agreement to evaluate a 960 MW small modular reactor project at a former coal plant site in Sullivan County, Indiana. Amazon will provide development funding and intends to purchase the power under a long-term contract. The project would use 12 Xe-100 reactors. A final investment decision has not been made.
