Comstock signs deal to buy 672-unit Charlotte multifamily property

Comstock Holding Companies signed a purchase agreement to acquire The Ascher, a 672-unit Class A multifamily property in Uptown Charlotte, North Carolina. The deal is expected to close in Q4 2026. It is Comstock's first multifamily acquisition in North Carolina and its third 2026 acquisition under its Institutional Venture Platform, following The Reed and Woodland Pointe. The property opened in 2016 and includes two 24-story residential towers, about 13,000 square feet of ground-floor retail, and a controlled-access garage with more than 900 spaces. It sits between Uptown Charlotte and the historic Fourth Ward, is walkable to the LYNX Blue Line, and is near offices of Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Truist, and Duke Energy.
