Empire State Realty Trust takes top GRESB management score in Americas again

Empire State Realty Trust said it was named a regional sector leader and recorded the highest management score among all 529 ranked companies in the Americas in the latest GRESB assessment. The office REIT earned the top 5-star rating for a seventh consecutive year with a score of 92.3 and an A for public disclosure. GRESB benchmarks sustainability performance of real assets and supplies validated data to capital markets. ESRT also took top marks in leadership, policies, reporting, stakeholder engagement, targets, tenants and community, data monitoring and review, and building certification. CEO Tony Malkin tied the result to energy cuts: consumption is down 49% at the Empire State Building and 39% across the commercial portfolio since 2009. The portfolio was about 7.7 million rentable square feet of commercial space plus three residential properties as of Nov. 2, 2026.
