VEON's Banglalink launched Mukto Pay, a digital payments platform in Bangladesh, following a PSP license from Bangladesh Bank. The app enables money transfers, bill payments, mobile recharge, and payments at 9,500+ merchants. Bangla QR interoperability is planned. The launch is part of VEON's 'Invest in Bangladesh NOW' initiative with a $250M anchor investment. VEON also has approval to set up a digital bank with Square Group. VEON's financial services platforms had 59M active customers in Q2 2026, contributing $151M in digital revenue. Bangladesh is the fourth market in VEON's fintech footprint.
